Playing with the bullseye block technique. I almost like them better before I cut them into quarters and re-sewed them together. Candy suggested doing both – keeping some uncut and some cut. I like that idea. I need to get some more cut and ready to sew. Maybe next week. This week I’m working on FMQ on my string quilt and my HST project.
That’s such a neat idea…like them both ways but really interesting cutting them apart – makes a statement!
Thanks Gayle.
Hmm. I see what you mean about possibly liking better before cut and sewn back together. Will be fun to have a mix of both varieties. Can’t wait to see more!
Maybe this weekend I’ll get back to cutting out some more blocks. Oh, and your zippered pouches…..I think you’ll like them better quilted or at least with some interfacing/batting. Your peeps will love them though.
Fun! Are you just layering them or are you cutting away the back layers?
cutting away the back. And thanks!
I was wondering about the construction too as well also and! Have found your blog whilst googling travellers blankets…I’m doing an on line course with Dijanne Cevaal…and have signed up for updates. I loooove it to bits.
Yup, cutting away the back of each circle before I add the next one. It’s not TOO much of a pain. 🙂 How is the Dijanne Cevaal class going for you? I was disappointed in the class overall but I do like my finished product.
And thanks for following me! 🙂
Maybe mixing the two would be ok but I really like them before cutting. An interesting process!!!! Hugs……
Once I get a few more done, I’ll be able to play and get a better feel for it. Hi to Tom and KEEP WARM!
Love this. I am wondering how it is done.
Hi Ann – thanks! I’ll post a link to a you-tube that I watched in my next blog post. It’s really very simple. Just cut out squares, then cirlces (or whatever shape you want), raw edge sew the circle onto the square, cut away the back of the circle then sew another one on top. I did 4 layers then cut the square (with the layers of circles) into 4 pieces. Mixed them up and re-sewed them into a square. Clear as mud, right? I’ll post the youtube video in the next day or two! 🙂
thank you for taking the time to explain. I must try this soon. I haven’t found the u tube video yet but I’m looking. Ann
Here’s the link to my blog post with the youtube video. Hope that helps!
