IMG_4181Alpaca my Wrap – This was a crochet-a-long for January.  Pattern is by Tamara Kelly, available on Ravelry.  It ended up about 16×80″ and will make someone a nice warm cozy scarf.  The yarn is King Cole Mirage (50% wool, 50% acrylic).

The next 3 projects are felted.  I used the basic instructions HERE by Luscious Gracious for felting.  Really had fun with this.  You knit your items REALLY BIG and then shrink them up in a hot wash.  Fun, fun, fun.

Not another brown Bag –  Pattern is by Knot Your Mamas, available on Ravelry.  Yarn is Malabrigo  Worsted.  I purchased it at The Yarnery in  St. Paul, Minnesota.  Color is Fitzgerald.  I love this yarn.  If you want to buy me a present – buy me this yarn!  😉  This will make a perfect bag to hold my next project – Mr. W’s 2nd pair of socks.

Changeover Project BagPattern by Soft Rainbow Designs, available on Ravelry.  This bag is a little bigger and I’ll probably put an insert in the bottom to help it retain the shape.

This is the latest Mindy Ross KAL called Giggle with a Jiggle.  I’m using the merino/cashmere yarn that I bought in Canberra.  It’s beautiful to work with.  As it’s a sport weight, it’s a little heavier but it is so soft and with the 4.5mm needles I think it will be perfect for our winters.  This will be mine – I’m loving the stitches.  I find the knitting of stockinette stitch pleasurable.  I think it’s the mindlessness of it.  Basically, I don’t like to work too hard at anything.

And here’s a finished picture of Settler Shawl.

These are my last 2 shawl – for awhile.  I think I’ve made 7 or more shawls in the last year or so.  Ridiculous.  A girl can only wear so many shawls with her pyjamas and yoga pants.  I’m on a self imposed shawl making diet for now.  I think I might try knitting a bag of some sort – to be felted.

I’m doing a SAL during September.  Spoil-a-long.  The goal is to make something for yourself, spoil YOURSELF, rather than others.

I’ve been wanting a pair of yoga socks all winter but just haven’t taken the time to make them.  Why socks without toes and heels?  Well, without toes and heels, you can grip your yoga mat yet most of your foot stays warm.  Win – win!

Anyway – here’s my yoga socks.  I’ve already worn them twice.  They also work well when doing ‘kitchen yoga’.  That’s when you do yoga while you are cooking (but you knew that already, right?!).

Oh, and the picture?  A selfie from my yoga studio.  Taking a class with my Yin yoga girl crush Felicia from Yogaglo.  LOVE her classes.  LOVE my little yoga studio.

Here’s a picture of my other knitting project.  It’s called Settler Shawl by Libby Jonson.  Available on Ravelry.  Great pattern.  I’m using a skein of Ella Rae lace merino yarn I bought in Berry.  Although it’s not a color I typically wear, I’m liking it enough that it MAY be for me.  There will be 5 repeats of the criss cross pattern.

My latest knitting.  It’s called Whispered Memories by Mindy Ross available on Ravelry.  My first project using beads and the fleegle beader (available on Etsy).  My first project using Chiagoo needles and lifelines.  Wolle’s color changing cotton was used in Pimento with a Chilli end.  It stretched my patience.  It isn’t perfect but I like it.

And now…..I’m on a knitting holiday.  No more knitting or crocheting until September.  I have a new Mindy Ross KAL that I’ll probably do starting September 10th called Giggle with a Jiggle.  In the meantime, I have a couple quilt projects that need attention!  And I still want to get back to painting.  I see Serena Barton has a new book out, Wabi Sabi painting with Cold Wax.  LOVE her stuff but haven’t gotten through the projects in her first book yet.  I’ll put her new book on my wish list.
