Here’s my February Finishes. I’ve had another good month of making progress. Of the 12-14 UFOs on my list, I’ve knocked off 6 of them plus a few that didn’t make it to the list. All the ‘low hanging branch’ projects are pretty much finished so it’s on to the ones that are going to take more time.
First on the list is the back for my “Zen My Ass” quilt. I purchased the paints last week and prepped the fabric so now I just need to shift my table space over from quilting to painting. I’m going to paint, stencil, screen print to my hearts content to design my own fabric for the back. I might even add some paint to the front of the top. Rayna Gillman‘s book, Create your own handprinted cloth, is my inspiration.
It’s a good time to take JaniJanome to the spa as she’s been sounding ‘clunky’ and complaining when doing FMQing lately.
Big Ass Quilt
Les Miserables’ knitted scarf – love this scarf. Can’t wait to wear it.
Winter socks/slippers – my first pair! Color me proud.
Thimbleberries-esc quilt top – original blocks made by my small quilt group. This is next in line for FMQing – once JaniJanome comes back from the spa.
string quilt – not my best FMQing work but someone will enjoy cuddling up with it I’m sure.
Christmas Angels Wallhanging – this was a kit designed by Mom and given to me many, many years ago for Christmas. I machine buttonholed the angels, micro-stippled around them. Straight line quilted the stars, did a little feather action in the black area around the star and then a paisley in the border. Love it. Thanks mom!
