Ok – these aren’t 100% completed but here’s a progress shot.
Jelly roll tumber baby quilt (thanks Karen!) – the top is finished. I need to order fabric for the back and binding – however I’ve committed to an austerity challenge, with a group of gals from Ravelry, until June 1 so that will have to wait. Or, I’ll dye some fabric for the back. We’ll see.
What is an austerity challenge, you are asking? That’s where we commit to NOT spending any money on fabric (we are allowed to buy batting to finish projects though). December 1 through June 1 is our time frame. I might actually try to go all year with the exception of purchases for finishing projects. 2014 might be the year of busting through my stash and using things up!
Mr. W’s Civil War quilt – waiting for binding to be hand sewn
I’ve also made great progress on my first adult knitted sweater. I’m working on the sleeves. I’m quite surprised at how quickly it has gone and that I haven’t sworn at all while making it! As far as I can tell, I haven’t made any mistakes either. Fingers crossed that it fits as I couldn’t be bothered to swatch. Do you swatch?
For those of you that need inspiration to finish things up – pop on over to my sister’s blog, My Olive Branch, and check out her plans for 2014. She has 94-odd quilt tops that she plans to get quilted (or at least make a huge dent in the stack). She’s been busily taking pictures and posting them – think she has 40 of them up so far.
