I’ve been traveling for the last 8 weeks (Singapore, Austria and the USA) so have some MAJOR blog catching up to do. All the items posted the last 8 weeks were previously finished so now I need to get them added to my 2013 finished page.
I did so much shopping that I had to pay for 2 additional suitcases to bring it all back in. Can you spell I-N-S-A-N-E? Both fabric and yarn. I’ll get some pictures taken and post what I bought. I left SO MUCH behind……but I think I have enough to keep me going for another 2 years – except for backs. I’ll probably need some backs.
While on holiday, I kept knitting. I finished a wrap sweater (jumper) for Eliana and little crop sweater for Ruby. I also started a shawl and finished a prayer shawl and a scarf that my sister had started years ago. At a FABULOUS quilt retreat I did the quilting on Lisa’s nana quilt and mended the sashing strips on my brother’s quilt (the black fabric was disintegrating). I struggled with the Pfaff at the retreat so after a failed attempt at Sutton’s quilt, I put the machine away. Later in the trip I tried again and waaaalaaaaa – Pfaffy was working. I think I was threading it wrong. Go figure. Oh, and I did the binding on a shower gift for Matt & Megan.
I went to the AQS quilt show in Des Moines with my sister so I have loads of pictures from that show to share also. An amazing show – especially the Des Moines guild portion. We were exhausted by the time we got to that section so I don’t think we truly did it justice. If I ever go again, I’ll give myself 2 days to do the show and double the budget.
Oh, and I also met up with Doreen from Treadlemusic for lunch one day in South Dakota! What a treat. We’ll be sure to get together again….her Mister and my Mr. W hit it off like old friends and Doreen is just as sweet in person as she is in cyberland.
My current problem? I don’t know what to start on. Keep working on my unfinished projects or dive into something new? Plus, even though I now have 2 sewing machines (we brought my Pfaff back as a carry-on), I actually don’t have a sewing machine to work with today as I lent my Janome to a friend (and I haven’t connected with her yet to pick it up) and the Pfaff needs a transformer/converter before I can use her Down Under. Good thing I have some knitting and hexies to work on.
