Yeah – did that catch your attention? Do you think I’m being too personal? Perhaps you’re thinking this topic isn’t quite appropriate for a quilt/craft/art related blog? Well, hold your horses; don’t get your panties bunched up – this refers to knitting of all things!
I was on the Ravelry site the other day and ran across a forum post about monogamy that caught my eye. The topic? “Are you a monogamous knitter.” Yes – a monogamous KNITTER.
I had never heard that expression before, have you? Are you a monogamous quilter? Monogamous crocheter?
We all know I’m not a monogamous quilter (can you say ADHD of quilting projects?). However, I could be classified as a monogamous crocheter as I rarely have more than one crochet project going at a time.
Monogamous knitter? Well, I can ALMOST be classified as that but no. I now have TWO knitting projects going. One is the little boy’s jumper. I finished one sleeve and have one to go. However, working with DPNs (double pointed needles) is NOT fun and requires 100% of my concentration. With that in mind, I started on another project of straight knitting/purling so that I had a brainless project on the go for TV watching.
I’m no longer a monogamous knitter. I feel so ashamed. I’m hanging my head in shame.
