Remember these two caps?
Well, I couldn’t convince Mr. W that we should wear matching caps around the farm so I ended up giving one of them to the daughter of one of my quilting peeps. The daughter is a young (20 something) hip artist with a flare for fashion.
Well, she REALLY liked the cap. This is the thank you note I received from her:
Subject: MY GORGEOUS NEW BEANIE
I’m B******, lovely A*****’s daughter 🙂
I just wanted to email to thank you so much for my new awesome bean-bean you made me!
I love it! I love the colours, the style and the wool is so soft!
I really appreciate the time, effort and love put into making this!
How fun is that thank you note? Totally made my day!
Anyway…..the rest of the story is that her younger teenage brother also liked the cap and I’d been told was hoping that his older sister WOULDN’T like it so that he could score it. Sadly for him, older sister B went home with it. Lucky for him…..I had several rugby matches to watch last weekend and what did I find in my hand but a ball of wool and a crochet hook.
I sent 2 versions home with Mamma A on Thursday for Brother S to choose from and about 7:30pm, I received the most delightful phone call from the young man to thank me for his new beanie. I’m not sure who was more tickled….him or me? He’s a cutie, isn’t he? Surfer dude and fisherman….I’m guessing he will be breaking hearts down the road. 🙂
Here’s my Warhol interpretation of me in my cap….ahhh….if ONLY my hair was that long!
