My friend Doreen posted this link and I want to pass it along. This young woman is coordinating opportunities available for donating quilts.
Sometimes – a quilter just wants to make a quilt for no other reason than YOU WANT TO MAKE A QUILT. If you’ve given a quilt to everyone in your family – to all your friends – and to all your neighbors and you realize that YOU need another quilt as badly as you need a hole in your head – but you STILL want to make a quilt – why not make a quilt for some charity group? It just might give you a warm fuzzy feeling. Not to mention the benefit to the recipient.
Here’s the link to Doreen’s blog post with all the deets.
On the home front, I’m still working on the FMQ on Vignette (aka Fabric Vomit). I’m about 1/2 way finished. Today I added a nice touch to the quilting process…..I quilted my Supreme Slider onto the back of the quilt. I suppose I’ll need to do some unsewing before I get back to work on it. (Can you say CRAP?)
Oh, and if you’re looking to kill some time…..go to Google Images, type in New York Beauty Quilt and prepare to be amazed. I know, I know……you don’t need to remind me……..I’m nuts. Tell me something I don’t know.

Oh my. I can NOT wait to see this quilt complete! And yeah about the slider, it happens.
I’m about 1/2 way done with it. Ran out of pink thread today so will put it aside until next week when I can obtain more but I’m making progress and it’s really not going too badly. I’m doing a different pattern in each border.
I’ve stitched my slider to the back not once but twice!!! Being the art quilter that you are, you could always say you meant to do that.
Candy’s reply says it all! I, too, have done that (and not just once!!!). It has more packing tape mending on it than not!!!! It still works, though. Love that quilt!!! Hugs, Doreen
Thanks! Have you seen the next one that Leanne is doing? It’s only 4 ‘mystery’ lessons – and I think only about 30″ square. I’m very tempted but am holding back.
I think Candy may have been ‘taking the piss’……what do you think? ha!
??
Here’s a link to ‘Leanne’s House” – the magazine that had the Vignette Mystery (Fabric Vomit) quilt pattern. She’s starting another one with Tilda fabric. I don’t get the magazine any more – but am tempted! It has such an old fashioned look to it that appeals to me. I WILL resist though.

Thanks!..Will definitely check this out!!!
And, oh yes, thanks so much for linking to my site…..you’re a “Peach”!!! (These ‘senior moments’ drive me crazy…..meant to say that in the above comment!! Hehe!)
no problem. What a good cause.
It is….among so many ‘out there’!!!
I didn’t sew my slider to the fabric but I did lose it all together. I was wondering why I had this drag all of a sudden. I lifted up the quilt. No slider. I thought ‘oh crap’. But it wasn’t attached to the bottom of my quilt. It was on the floor behind my machine. lol
Were you having a wild party at the time?
Was Candy there with you? Was wine involved?
I don’t drink anymore. She wasn’t there. BUT I am often thinking about her when I am quilting. SO it is possible that SHE was drinking her wine when my slider disappeared. lol
