I’m putting myself on a fabric diet for the next 6 months. The only exceptions will be to finish existing projects. I’ll have plenty of opportunity to stock up on fabrics and supplies while in the USA later this year.
Which brings me to my other goal – to finish up a few more projects before starting new ones. The only exception for that goal is a baby quilt. Two of my sisters are grandmothers and for their first grandchild – I made them a baby quilt to have at their home for the grandchild. Well, L1 is now joining the grandmother ranks so that gives me an excuse to make a baby quilt from scratch. I think it’s going to be less traditional and more freeform – at least that’s what I’m thinking right now. Her only request is that it be soft on the back (I’m thinking to use minky or flannel for the back).
My list of projects I’d like to finish in the next 6 months:
Vignette – quilt it, bind it, shove it onto a shelf
Pouf – finish these up and start using them
Modern Monday – piece a back, quilt it, bind it, shove it onto a shelf
Vintage postage stamp – finish piecing it, order cowboy/rodeo print for back (it’s for Sutton – the new kid on the block)
Wonky Basket – design borders and start doing appliqué
Artist’s Journal – keep working on hand work, complete papers for at least one signature block and start using it
Grandmother’s Choice – catch up on blocks (I think I’m behind by 4 or 5) and stay caught up
New York Beauty – hang this back up on the design wall and keep working on it
Crochet trim for my new scarf
Crochet little sweater topper
Traveler’s Blanket
oh crap…..there’s no way on this green earth I’m ever going to get these all done in six months……who the heck am I kidding? I think I’ll just go do some yoga and swing my bells. Surely I’ve a good book I could read also?

A very good friend’s advice always rings in my head…..”Aim high and cut ‘er in half!” Aiming super high and just missing is a whole lot better than aiming at the basement and hitting it!!! (MY words of “wisdom” here….LOL!) Hugs, Doreen
so true, so true. And I think just by having something to ‘aim’ you gain momentum.
Excellent point!!!!!
