I keep getting sidelined by the DOG DAYS of summer but I’m determined to participate in WIP Wednesday!
So this week…..
1. Finally finished pining my Vignette quilt.
2. Did the appliqué work on 3 more New York Beauty circles and sewed 2 more NYB segments.
3. Sewed 2 more sets of 2 Grandmother’s Choice blocks. Plan to cut out some sashing strips and use those as my next leader/ender project. Did a paper pieced umbrella block and threw it away. Decided it didn’t need to be in my Grandmother’s Choice quilt.
4. Finally had some rain so water tanks are full again which allowed me to do some washing of my latest eco-printing projects. Heat set then washed then dried then pressed. I’m not crazy about any of them except the piece of wool – the cotton ones are too muddy looking and relatively no imprints. The wool piece was wrapped around green walnuts with a button tucked at the top of each walnut.
Non-related quilting WIP includes completing week 3 of the Lauren Brooks Kettlebell for Women program. I do love my kettlebell workouts! I’m in the groove and feeling great about it. I’m in week 16 of regular, 3-5 times per week exercise and it feels FABULOUS. Health, fitness, strength……that’s what I’m striving for. I refuse to get crazy about numbers – it doesn’t matter to me what number the ‘random number generator’ spits out or even what size tag is in the inside of my jeans. What I care about is being the best version of myself HEALTHWISE that I can be.
I’ll be linking up with Lee at Freshly Pieced and checking out what everyone else has been up to this week. I’m thinking to do a bit of a push in February to finish several things up; NOT start any new projects and start the month of March FRESH and ready to dive into some new ideas that I have jumping around in my head. Then again, I could just chuck everything I’m working on behind the magic curtain and dive into some new ideas RIGHT NOW! We’ll see.

Oh wow, you finished that Vignette quilt! :O I’ve been following along with everyone’s progress and it’s so beautiful, but man that’s a lot of work!
Also, yay kettlebells! My favorite exercise these days is the American style kettle bell swings where you end up with them straight up above your head. It makes me feel super powerful when I do those!
Looks like you’ve been pretty busy and got a lot accomplished. All of your projects are great and the New York Beauty and colors are fantastic. Thanks for sharing.
I love your NY Beauty blocks, your dying results. I love to see your stuff. Always interesting.
Beatiful quilt!
