Cauldron A: red cabbage & basil – left a purple tinge to the fabric.
Cauldron B: Walnuts – I think I have too heavy of a hand with my dyes…..they seem to go very dark. I need to do some research on making up my ‘potions’…..I just don’t think I’ve got it quite right yet.
The hydrangea blossoms leave a delightful imprint – and so did some of the hibiscus leaves. I’m anxious for them to cure so I can wash and press them to see if the imprints stay or not.
Also like the imprint from my shibori-inspired folding. Cool,eh?
All these pieces were PFD Moda cotton that I mordanted w/Alum Sulfate.

i *like* the darkness of these–and as they eventually mellow, that will be to your advantage.
Thanks Arlee. It’s all so new to me……
I am so in love with the ‘grays’ that you are coming up with!! In fact, I am looking at all my piecing in terms of how I can incorporate a gray tone somewhere. (Gray is the new white/black????) I prefer the more intense colors and love the tones you have done!! Such fun!!
Thanks Doreen.
ohh! love the simplicity of the straight grid!
Thanks. I think I’m going to enjoy playing with this technique for awhile!
